The borough of Bromley is home to many fine restaurants and reflects the amazing diversity of cuisines on offer today. Of course, it has to be said that world travel has had a lot to do with whipping up an appetite for international flavours, hence the arrival of global cuisine, be it in national dishes or creative culinary fusions, for us all to enjoy and more or less on our very own doorsteps.
Chapter One – Farnborough Common
Executive chef Andrew McLeish began his career with celebrated chef Nico Landenis at his acclaimed restaurant Chez Nico in London’s Park Lane. He went on to sharpen his management skills at The Ritz, London’s foremost five star hotel. However, it was while he was head chef at The Dining Room at the capital’s The Landmark Hotel that he was headhunted for the splendid Chapter One restaurant located in Locksbottom, Farnborough. This is a restaurant that provides not only excellent food and service but outstanding value too in a setting that is classy and stylish but one that exudes a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Opened in 1996, Chapter One today is the proud possessor of a Michelin Star and four AA Rosettes. One of the finest Bromley restaurants.

Joanna’s – 56 Westow Hill, Crystal Palace
This unassuming restaurant began life as an American-style grill and piano bar back in 1978 and there still remains today a faint hint of Americana with its elegant and glamorous Art Deco styling. Sleek, smooth lines and walls adorned with the Vettriano modern art variety coupled with a cuisine of international flavours with a leaning toward the British and European classics make this one of the best loved restaurants in the South East of London. Breakfast is also served daily from 10am until noon with a wonderful selection of morning dishes, coffees, teas and juices and also if you are of the mind, a chilled glass of champagne, bellini or prosecco to give a decadent twist to that ever important first meal of the day.
Denny’s Lobster & Oyster Seafood Restaurant – 3 Station Approach, Chislehurst
This little gem of a restaurant has been established since 1985 and is located inside the one-time waiting room of Chislehurst train station. Even though there is a seating capacity of 70, this charming eatery still exudes a cosy and relaxed ambience. There is an extensive and impressive array of seafood and fish which is sourced fresh daily, for example, crabs, Dover sole, lobsters, langoustines, rock oysters, monkfish, sea bass, mussels, winkles and whitebait.
